Mattamy Homes, a Canadian home building company, has plans to expand their footprint in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Don Barrineau, the former president of the home builders’ Alberta division, had left his post early this year to bolster efforts in Arizona.
About Mattamy Homes
Based in Toronto, the homebuilding company also has a main US building of operations in Florida. Currently, Mattamy Homes ranks high on the list of the Valley’s largest homebuilders, nearly breaking into the top 10th percentile in the first half of 2021. With around 6,000 active lots in the Phoenix metropolitan area, they’re looking to expand even further.
Negotiations & Expansion
Negotiations for land are already in full swing, and the homebuilder has already secured a couple sizable parcels of land. Included are a 85-acre area in San Tan Heights and a 153-acre area in Queen Creek.
For the San Tan Heights parcel, Mattamy Homes is planning to build the Pinnacle at San Tan Heights to be open by late next summer. As for the Queen Creek parcel, the Empire Pointe in Queen Creek will be constructed through late October 2022. Additionally, there are several deals on the table for up to about 2,700 total homes. This would nearly double the amount of active Mattamy Homes lots in Arizona!
Furthermore, as the number of the homebuilder’s active lots in the Phoenix metropolitan area grow, so must their office space. In addition to their plans to build more homes are plans to upgrade their Scottsdale office space to nearly 16,000 square feet.
